Nepal is a short flight from Delhi and changes the pace of any journey. The Kathmandu Valley alone holds seven groups of monuments listed together by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, from the stupas of Boudhanath and Swayambhunath to the old royal squares of Patan and Bhaktapur.
Beyond the valley, the hill villages of Nagarkot and Dhulikhel look out across the Himalaya at sunrise. Pokhara sits on the calm water of Phewa Lake beneath the Annapurna range, and Chitwan National Park in the southern lowlands is home to one-horned rhinos and Bengal tigers. Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, draws pilgrims from across Asia.

How long do we need in Nepal?
Five to seven nights covers the Kathmandu Valley and either the mountains or Chitwan. Ten nights allows all three at an easy pace.
When is the best time to visit Nepal?
October to November and March to April bring the clearest mountain views and mild days. December to February is cooler but often bright.
Can Nepal be combined with India?
Yes. Kathmandu is a short flight from Delhi, so Nepal fits naturally before or after the Golden Triangle or Varanasi.
